My browser is warning me that a library database might not be safe. What should I do?
Many of our sites will come up with this warning due to our software allowing off-campus access.  You can feel safe clicking 'Proceed anyway'.

How do I look up books?
Try our Crown Infosearch, or ask a librarian for help!  Tutorials are available here!

How do I look up articles?
Try searching in Crown InfoSearch (options on the side can narrow your search to just articles), a subject guide, or you can always ask your librarian for help!

I am an online student, what is available for me?
Students (online and traditional), faculty, and staff can use the library's print and online resources.  Online resources are accessible remotely by going through the library webpage and using your Crown username and password.  Inter-library loan (articles only) and reference services are also available to you at no charge.
Online Students who live far away can still use the library's print resources.  Books can be mailed to you. You would be responsible for return postage and getting them back to us before their due date.  However, local public libraries offer inter-library loan services and may be a faster option for you.  Also, don't forget to check out our e-book collection, through which we have access to over 160,000 e-books; it might have just what you need!
      Still have questions?  Contact Mary.

Can I bring food and drinks into the library?
You sure can!  We even have a coffee maker, microwave, and a water cooler available for use.  Coffee, tea, cocoa, and snacks are available for purchase at the InfoDesk.

Do I have to whisper and be very quiet in the library?
When students were surveyed, the biggest complaint was that the library was too loud.  So we made the end of the North Wing a Quiet Zone.  In the West Wing, talking is allowed, but we still ask that you be considerate of those around you (for example, use headphones when listening to music).

Who can use group study rooms?
The study rooms can be reserved at the InfoDesk. Or you can email our Public Services Manager (Kathleen) for a specific time and event. If a room is not reserved, it’s available for you!  If it’s after 6 pm, just invite a couple friends to join you—we give preference to groups during peak library hours.

What is the Academic Center?
The Academic Center is a place you can go to have someone look over your research paper, help you prepare for a test, or take a make-up exam. The Academic Center is now located one floor below the library, outside the faculty offices and by the Collaboration Center. To find out more, visit Patty’s office (N305) — she’s our Acacdemic Center Director.  Or email her at pittspa@crown.edu.

My professor put some books on Reserve. Where can I find them?
Reserve books are kept behind the InfoDesk.  Simply ask a library staff member for access!  Want to see what is on reserve and what is available?  Search for your course here. If something you want is checked out, you can place it on hold to be next in line.

I am a student and heard I can get access to Grammarly. How do I do that?
It is easy!  1. Go to www.grammarly.com/edu/signup   2. Put in your Crown username and password   3. Click the link in the confirmation email.

What kind of equipment does the library have available for checkout?
The library has laptops, cameras, cords, headphones, projectors, and so much more available for you to use!  Here is a list of just some of what is available.  Just stop by the InfoDesk for access!

Do you have information on citing, plagiarism, or copyright?
Absolutely! We have how-to guides for help with citing and information on copyright. Help for preventing plagiarism is available in the Academic Center, and we would also love to assist you!

Where can I find a list of textbooks I need?

Textbooks can be looked up by class at our online store.

Can I donate books to the library?
